Robert Nardozza

Robert Nardozza - Co-Owner

Robert Nardozza has been teaching U.S. & Ballroom World Champions for over 21 years. He currently co-owns Colorado Dancesport, Denver's premier school for Ballroom and Latin dancing. In addition Robert has worked with U.S. Ice Dancers at the Olympic Training Center. Robert was on the U.S. International Ice Dancing Team for 10 years and has numerous trophies in the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame. Additionally Robert danced with the Dallas Metropolitan Ballet Company for 7 years.



Harmony Munroe

Harmony Munroe - Co-Owner

Harmony Lyris began dancing at the age of 8 and currently co-owns Denver's premier school for Ballroom and Latin dancing, Colorado Dancesport. She has won numerous titles in American Rhythm, American Smooth, and International Latin dancing. Harmony has been a representative at the World 10 - Dance Championships and the World South American Showdance Championships as well as being a finalist at the World Mambo and the World Salsa Championships. Harmony is also the co-author of the DVIDA Syllabus of Country Western Dancing. .



Toby Munroe

Toby Munroe - Instructor

Toby Munroe is the 2004 & 2005 UCWDC World Champion in the Classic Masters division. In January 2006 Mr. Munroe was voted "Best Male Couples Dance Instructor" at the Star Awards Gala held in Stockholm, Sweden. Toby began his dance career in 1990 after being dragged, kicking & screaming to a Country & Western Dance Festival. Since then he has gone on to become one of the most sought after coaches, choreographers & instructors in the World. His extensive background in dance includes Country, Swing, Hustle, Latin, Ballroom and Salsa. He has won countless titles in Swing, Hustle and on the UCWDC circuit. Toby won his first World Championship title in 2002 for ABC Choreography. He has been nominated for 9 Star Awards, taught at Stanford University and has been featured on the TNN and GAC television networks. Toby is also a four time Colorado State Swing Champion and a UCWDC Master Certified Judge.


Lindsey Dechant

Lindsey Dechant - Instructor

Lindsey has been with Colorado Dancesport since January 2007. She began her professional dance career in Minnesota with the local Fred Astaire Dance School. Lindsey instantly rose to the top of her school and began winning many Fred Astaire sponsored competitions in the American Smooth division. She brings over fifteen years of Gymnastic and Musical Theater experience to her dancing.


Mitchel Kibel

Mitchel Kibel - Instructor

Mitch has been performing, singing, and acting for over 20 years.  He has been dancing for over 10 years and has an award winning musical background in saxophone.   Mitch currently dances Pro American Rhythm as well as Pro Same-Sex Latin and Standard. Mitchel has achieved many titles in same-sex competitions.   In 2009, Mitch placed 3rd in Latin at the US Championships.  At the World Championships in Denmark he placed 3rd in Show Dance, 2nd in Ten Dance, and was a latin finalist. In 2010 at the World Championships in Germany; he was a Standard finalist, placed 3rd in Ten-Dance, and won the World Championship title in Show Dance.


Scott Koogle

Scott Koogle - Instructor

Scott has been dancing for over 7 years.  Although he has loved all forms of dance from a young age, he began his career in Salsa.  After winning a State Salsa Championship, he continued to expand his love of dance through Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop and Modern.  In 2007, Scott went on a world tour with an organization called Up with People as a Dance Captain.


Faith Wailes

Faith Wailes - Instructor

Faith began dancing with ballet, and tap as a child. She studied theatre arts in college and soon found herself doing ballroom dancing. Upon her return from duty in Iraq, she had the opportunity to start teaching and immediately fell in love with it. Since 2006 she has taught numerous individuals and couples, competed in Pro/Am competition, and choreographed smooth & impressive first dances for wedding couples. In 2010 she found her way to Colorado Dancesport and is thrilled to call it home. Faith is a certified DVIDA instructor and has received coaching and training from nationally recognized instructors.

 


Tim Edgar

Tim Edgar - Instructor

Tim did not fall in love with dance until he was literally carried out onto the floor at the age of 23.  Following that fateful night, Tim began his career as a teacher’s aide for a social dance class at Montana State University, thus solidifying his passion for the sport.  Tim has performed countless times and even had a guest appearance during Disney’s “Dancing With the Stars” Holiday Parade.


John Springli

John Springli - Instructor

John has been competing in competitive sports of all kinds since the age of 6. However, it wasn’t until his last year in high school that he put on his first pair of dance shoes.

In college John competed with the University of Missouri and represented them at numerous competitions, such as the Purdue Ballroom Classic and the National Collegiate Championship. John began teaching wedding couples and amateur students in Missouri in 2011.

During the summer of 2012, John not only joined the Colorado Dancesport family, but he also married his dance partner Lauren! In April of 2012, John and Lauren finished in the finals of the USADance National Championship in the American Smooth division.


Bobbie Briceño

Bobbie Briceño - Instructor

Bobbie began dancing before she could walk. Since her mother was a dance teacher, she took lessons in jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, and modern dance. She has always loved to perform and be on stage but it wasn’t until high school that she discovered ballroom dance. She has focused mainly on American Rhythm but enjoys all styles of ballroom. She has competed at Colorado Star Ball in pro-am as well as performed in multiple Colorado Dancesport Showcases! Bobbie has been part of the Colorado Dancesport family since 2009 and has been teaching since early 2012.


Angi Heien

Angi Heien - Instructor

Angi Heien has been dancing for more than two decades and is formally trained in both ballet and ballroom. She has studied with the Joffery Ballet School, State Ballet of Missouri, and Pennsylvania Ballet as well as numerous ballroom champions. She has competed and been awarded in more than 40 professional ballroom competitions and was named the U.S. Junior Champion in 1997. With over 15 years of teaching experience in St. Louis Angi is excited to share her passion for dance as an instructor at Colorado Dancesport.


Julie Lewis

Julie Lewis - Sports Conditioning

Julie first stepped onto a dance floor with her husband in 1996 dancing Country Western. Since then, she has had numerous partners to compete in pro/am and amateur events in American Smooth Ballroom. Most notably, the talented and wonderful Robert Nardozza with whom she competed with in pro/am. She also had a fantastic amateur partnership with Jim Brown. In 2009, she & Jim won a National Title in amateur American Smooth. In 2012, Julie began dancing professionally with Misha Belfer. Who says dreams don’t come true?

As much as she loves dancing, she also enjoys her role of a fitness instructor. After completing a master’s degree in counseling psychology, she was certified in group fitness instruction, personal training, and yoga. Her unique background allows her to be a compassionate and dedicated teacher. Being able to teach something that you love and believe in is such an amazing gift. Kara Peck

Kara Peck - Environmental Consultant

Kara has been acting, singing and dancing since she was five years old. She reconnected with her passion for dance in 2006 when she took her first ballroom lesson and has been training and competing ever since. Kara started working at Colorado Dancesport in January 2010 and is currently competing in Open American Rhythm. Dance is not the only thing that keeps Kara busy, she also holds an MBA from the University of Denver and works for an internally recognized non-profit that educates businesses in environmental sustainability.


Misha Belfer

Misha Belfer - LA' Blast Instructor

Originally from Moscow, Mikhail "Misha" Belfer came to the United States to compete as a ballroom dancer. While living in San Francisco, he earned the title of U.S. World Representative (2000) and U.S. National Youth Ballroom Champion (2001).

Belfer was the first graduate of the Academy of Cosmetology Arts apprenticeship program in Denver. Misha then spent time in New York City where he worked as a stylist in a bridal salon and working on his Ballroom Dancing. He returned to Denver to apprentice with stylist Rocky Greco, at Greco's salons in Denver and Santa Fe.

He is intent upon listening to his clients. "Communication is key" says Belfer. "My interest is in giving them what they want and giving each client 100 percent of my attention, spending time with them. At the end of the day, I want my clients to be happy, to be excited about their hair, and to feel beautiful."


Joey Santos

Joey Santos - Costumes & Couture

Joey Santos of Santos Designs Inc. has been creating one-of-a-kind ballroom, figure skating, evening wear and all kinds of performance wear since 1996. Some of his clients include Olympic skaters, World and U.S. Champion ballroom dancers, aerial artists, pageant finalists and winners, actors, singers, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble as well as gowns for Ms. Cleo Parker Robinson herself.

Joey’s ability to capture the essence of every client in his designs is what has made him a sought after designer by artists everywhere. An actor and dancer himself, Joey began creating his own costumes as well as the costumes for his dance partners.

Santos Designs Inc. uses only the finest of Swarovski and Czech crystals for embellishments and only the most beautiful of fabrics and trims from suppliers in England and New York as well as yearly buying trips to New York; Los Angeles; and Milan, Italy.
